Even though major Hindu temples are suggested at sangams (confluence of rivers), river banks, lakes and seashore, Brhat Samhita and Puranas propose temples may be developed wherever a purely natural supply of water will not be existing. In this article as well, they suggest that a pond be built ideally in entrance or for the remaining in the temple
